WINTER WEATHER VEHICLE PREPARATIONS

Living here in Pennsylvania in the winter can be brutal so we are here to keep you safe while out on the road. Although most of us would prefer to drive on clear roads free of snow and slush, it’s not possible for us PA residents this time of the year.

Here are some top items to have on hand in your vehicle this winter:

  • Car cell phone charger

  • Bag of abrasive material such as sand, salt, or traction mats

  • Snow shovel and ice scraper with brush

  • Blanket, Gloves, Winter Hat

  • Flashlight with extra batteries

  • Window washer solvent

  • Jumper cables

  • Warning devices such as flares or triangles

In addition to keeping the above necessary supplies with you in your vehicle in case of an emergency, we recommend your vehicle is properly maintained so it doesn’t result in an accident.

Top areas to inspect before heading out on the winter roads:

  • Check Tire Tread and Pressure

  • Check Headlights, Tail Lights, Brake Lights

If you own aN Electric Vehicle be sure to keep good tire pressure in your vehicle.

Tire pressure and condition is even more essential when operating an EV because of the added weight to the vehicle from the batteries. Also, ensure your vehicles battery is fully charged because freezing temperatures can result in loss of battery life.
